10,000 Women Dying Each from From Illegal Abortions Before Roe v. Wade?
We've all heard the frightening statistic that 10,000 women died every year from illegal abortions in the U.S. before Roe v. Wade came along. The pro-abortion industry and their media allies continue to wave this number around to warn against the horror that would ensue if abortion were restricted. But the number is entirely bogus. More than just an urban legend, it's a deliberate lie contrived and repeatedly propagated to support an illicit industry. An earlier post by Annie on the AfterAbortion blog exposes this lie with some thorough documentation.
If we have such a pro-life, good Christian president, he should open
centers where mothers can have their children, and the children will be
cared for until put up for adoption. A woman who gets pregnant could live
at the center until giving birth. No "society" should ever sanction the
rampant killing we do. The cost of one month of the Iraq war could provide
a lot of medical care, shelter, and food.
