The peace-loving President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, is getting sooo frustrated by terrorists in his little state who just won't stop killing Jews. He's met with the leaders of these terrorist groups (all closely allied with his own PLO, of course) and asked them to be much nicer, but they just won't listen. What's a peace-loving man to do?
When Palestinians are suspected of doing something really bad like collaborating with the Israelis to let them know who's planning to commit terrorist atrocities, justice is swift in Palestine. With no resources for costly trials (more US money could help - let's be generous!), the accused collaborators are simply dragged out into a public place and shot several times. Why doesn't President Abbas consider this approach?
Perhaps he doesn't know who the leaders of the terrorist organizations are - perhaps because they wear sunglasses when he meets with them to ask them to be less violent, or perhaps because they give him phoney names, like "Porky Pig" or "Wonder Dog." Perhaps the problem is that Mahmoud Abbas just lacks the resources to keep track of all the terrorists among his peers, so let's hope that the $350 million donation President Bush promised to give the Palestinians in his State of the Union speech will go to good use, helping to purchase much needed pencils and a Palm Pilot or two so that Mahmoud Abbas can finally keep track of the terrorists he meets and then execute them.
Ah, but he's a peace-loving man, as you know. Such a gentle, kindly man would never order people to be executed, would he? Even though he co-founded the PLO terrorist organization with Yasser Arafat, was Yasser's right-hand-man for decades, supported activities that killed hundreds of people, and has never renounced terrorist violence per se, we all naturally believe the media when they tell us that he's a nice guy now, a sweetie, really, who is trying so hard to stop violence. Oh, wait - the media forgot to tell us recently when Mahmoud Abbas ordered the execution of three Palestinians for allegedly collaborating with Israel, or more recently when he approved the execution of 15 collaborators. But at least he didn't torture them himself, as far as we know, so he's still good.
Shed a tear for Mahmoud. He's working so hard to bring about the peace process, but it's not easy, the price of explosives and being what it is these days. He's going to need a lot of cash to carry out the peace process, and our $350 million dollars will go a long way to help. Peace is his goal, there's no doubt about that. But it's a separate peace, you might say, a peace that means the absence of all opposition, or more specifically, the absence of Israel, and perhaps even the absence of Jews.
Frankly, I want nothing to do with the "peace process" of Mahmoud Abbas and the American Left. Caving into to Marxist terrorists and waging war against civilians is not the kind of process America should be supporting. Rather, we should shun and cut off terrorist-loving regimes at every. And what about a man who would use the force of government to seize the money of taxpayers and place it in the bloody hands of foreign terrorists? It may be a "politically correct" thing for a liberal to do, but can that be anything less than treason when Americans are dying in the Middle East to fight a war against terrorism?
