I've had a lot of fun taking pictures of Christmas lights while moving the camera. The images created can create nice effects when superimposed over other images, or can be interesting in their own right. Below is an example of a composite image - Christmas lights on a tree taken with camera motion, superimposed on a photo from Appleton, Wisconsin of a manor decorated in Christmas lights. I think of it as "northern lights" and falling stars.
