One of my sons, home from college for the summer, has started a job at Home Depot as a cashier. He's been extremely impressed with this major American corporation. While the training for new employees is thorough and well organized, and while the people and products are outstanding, what has impressed him most is the dedication of the corporation to customer service. Based on the policies and procedures he has learned during training, he is simply amazed at how committed the company is to helping customers, to resolving their complaints, to accepting their point of view even when it might not be terribly fair to Home Depot.
My experiences at Home Depot have been overwhelmingly positive. They may have the most helpful employees I've encountered. When I've got a project or problem to solve, I know I can get good advice and find suitable products at Home Depot. With many other retailers, you're on your own.
Congratulations, Home Depot, for your leadership in customer service and for running such a great business.
I have had my good and my bad with Home Depot, but I was rather impressed
when I went in and told them that the caulking container they had given me
was defective. They explained to me that I needed to cut a hole, then poke
a hole in the top (something I have never had to do before). Then they
gave me a full refund, eventhough it was my own stupidity (sort of, no
where on the container did is specify that a hole needed to be punched
through the top).

You're right - they tend to treat customers well and make things right even
when it's the customers fault. That earns my trust.
