Innovation Edge: Help for Inventors to Bring Their Products to Market

posted Saturday, 7 July 2007

The former Chief Technical Officer of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Cheryl Perkins, has formed a consulting company called Innovation Edge, LLC. Cheryl was named as one of the Top 25 Champions of Innovation in the World by BusinessWeek in 2006, an amazing honor. This highly connected business leader is now working with a variety of clients to help inventors make the connections they need to get their ideas to market, and to help them develop the business plan and the IP position needed for success. Looks like an interesting opportunity. As a former colleague that I respect, I wish her the best in this effort.

I have noticed that many inventors don't know where to go to even get started in developing a plan for commercial success. There are people out there claiming to have connections to companies that really don't, who take inventors' money and waste their time for nothing. Cheryl is amazingly well connected and might be a good place to look for getting a competitive edge. One thing I learned in a recent conversation is that she is chairing the CoDev 2008 international conference on open innovation. Plenty of famous innovators and innovation experts will be flocking to that conference - another sign of her connectivity to many industries. I hope to learn a little more about all this.
