Maybe I should wear gloves to the voting machines today? The Democratic
levers might be tainted with bird flu...
This is unfortunately true. Martial law is what I fear most. Many people
feel that it is unlikely. This makes me wonder what the people thought
about this subject just before Hitler declared martial law. Some feel that
(because of quite a bit of evidence) the events of Sept. 11 were an inside
job. If that were true, the point of it would have been to eventually
declare Martial law. To me it just shows the resolve of the American
people, that we have yet let it get that far.
The current culture at the heart of America's military makes the sort of
martial law many people fear a complete impossibility. The fine officers
of our nation's military are taught from the very beginning of their
service to respect civilian rule. They even go so far as to pledge
themselves to the Constitution before their commander in chief.
