The National Education Association speaks as if they are looking out for the interests of education and children, but acts as if all they care about is power and politics. Here is an ad we got in the mail this week from their Fund for Children and Education. Wish they they were using that fund to actually advance education for children instead of partisan politics. And when it comes to education, their resistance of school choice, their opposition to proven educational techniques like phonics, and numerous other tactics all work for the detriment of education while protecting their position of power. How long do we have to endure the stranglehold of this left-wing political group over our schools?

My parents were members of the NEA (they're both public school teachers).
When I began homeschooling my oldest child, they were naturally concerned.
Then they began to see how well he was doing. When I showed them what the
NEA has to say about homeschooling, they both ceased to be members. So, I
would also add to your list of things that can be good for kids: The right
of parents to teach their children at home without government
interference!
