Partial Birth: Why Most People Have No Clue

Great evil requires great words. It's easy to commit a few crimes or to get someone else to commit a crime or two, but large-scale crimes like the persecution of the Jews by Hitler or the slaughter of millions in Cambodia, Rwanda, and China (during Mao's reign) are only possible when fueled by ideology, when masters of rhetoric are able to convince many people that something innately evil is actually good. This is one reason why freedom of speech must be eliminated by those whose quest for power requires convincing others to participate in great evil. Freedom of speech allows good men and women to identify evil, and to rekindle the flames of conscience and principle among the honest in heart.

Now consider the great evil of killing an innocent human being. If I asked you whether it would be OK for Mrs. Jones down the street to simplify her life by crushing the head of two-year-old Randy Jones, a boy widely known to create emotional havoc for Mrs. Jones by hurling food and shouting unintelligible epithets during prolonged tantrums, would you find that to be evil? Most people would, even if Randy had been rather obnoxious recently. Now what if little Randy were only a few days old and didn't yet have a name? Would you mind if we took that infant to a corner of the hospital and, say, cracked his head open and sucked his brains out with a medical aspirator designed for that purpose? Brutal, you say? Most people would see that as murder, for it is.

What if we could create the fiction that Randy was such a young infant that he wasn't really fully human yet? What if we took Randy over to his mother and placed his little foot back into the birth canal and pretended he wasn't fully born? Now that he wasn't completely born, what if we killed him and just called it an abortion, which is somehow a "Constitutional right" in this country? Then it would be legal, right? Most people would still see the depraved evil of such a suggestion, even those who believe abortions should be freely available.

What most people don't know is that "partial birth abortion" is not just another form of abortion. Most people actually have no understanding of what is involved, thanks to the deliberate deception of the media in shielding us from the true words that would let people understand what it is. Partial birth abortion is not just a "late term abortion" as the media often calls it. It is a grotesque act of killing a living infant who has been born - or rather, who is being born but still has a part of his body in the birth canal. The head of the baby has emerged and the baby is alive and typically healthy, but is then brutally murdered, often by opening the skull and sucking the brains out. It's based on the legal fiction that as long as part of the baby is in the mother's body, it's OK to kill the baby and call it an ordinary abortion. It's hard to think of a sicker, more sadistic, more brutal act against so helpless and innocent a victim, yet this great evil is repeated thousands of times a year, and is just an extension of the brutal violence inflicted against over a million other unborn infants every year in this country.
