Rush Limbaugh, usually swift to defend all aspects of the Bush Administration, took a bold step this week and criticized Bush's policy of making it easy for unscreened foreigners to enter this country. Details are in a story at WorldNetDaily. This is a breakthrough, indeed.
Meanwhile, most supporters of President Bush seem unable to question the strange approach of the Administration. We leave our borders wide open, and in the midst of the biggest spending spree in the history of the world, we are suddenly told that the budget just won't permit adding the border guards we were promised, but we can continue going in debt to mess with countries on the other side of the world. And while we are losing valiant men and women in the name of fighting terrorists over there, we embrace the PLO and give $23 million to Palestine and treat the PLA's new leader as a hero, in spite of his affiliation with terrorism for decades. But the evidence that something is rotten is becoming so strong, that even Rush Limbaugh is now able to openly challenge President Bush's border policy.
But what Limbaugh won't talk about is President Bush's commitment to FTAA, and that commitment means we aren't going to get secure borders unless Americans really speak out.
