America Betrayed: Able Danger

posted Saturday, 20 August 2005

Long before 9/11, Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer tried to tell the FBI about the terrorism threat posed by four of the Al Qaeda agents behind that dreadful attack. He was ignored. A mountain of evidence obtained under a special project, "Able Danger," was apparently ignored. When he fought to call attention to the threat, his security clearance was lowered. He was punished! And what the media tends to leave out in this story is that this incredible disregard for security, this incredible lapse in protecting our nation, occurred in the Clinton Administration. I'm not saying that Bush has done a whole lot better - leaving our borders open so terrorists can still walk across to this day - but the Clinton Administration clearly deserves a good part of the blame for the tragedy of 9/11. It was more than just bungling - it was callous disregard for national security.

Shocking that the 9-11 Commission failed to even mention Able Danger. They knew, but chose to ignore much information that would have shown who was really to blame. They wanted to create the image that the solution was giving more power to our leaders rather than holding them accountable.

Hi,

My name is Brian Stewart-Magee. I am a former Intelligence Advisor for Special Forces and Intelligence Analyst for the Air Intelligence Agency. I have my own situation similar to Able Danger. However, I may have a stronger case. I am claiming two things for now. One, I was threatened and fired for my intelligence analysis on Usama Bin Laden a/k/a "The Contractor". Second, I was threatened not to testify to the 9/11 Commission by a high ranking JAG officer. My goal is to bring this to the public’s attention. Please contact me if you would like to break this story first.
