Real Threats to the First Amendment
While the left clamors about the slightest restriction on pornography and profanity as threatening the foundation of all freedom, free speech has suffered dramatic and serious assaults under their hands for years. Thomas G. West of the University of Dallas gave a fascinating speech on this issue, "The Liberal Assault on Freedom of Speech," given at a seminar sponsored by Hillsdale College.
And now their's the McCain-Feingold law which adds new teeth to the steady assault on freedom of speech.

Since this is a post about the Constitution, I just thought I'd bring up some similar news -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued statement endorsing a constitutional amendment defining marriage (http://lds.org/newsroom/showrelease/0,15503,3881-1-19733,00.html). Having read your nugget opposing such an action, I was just wondering what you had to say about it now.
And this looks like a cool talk by that professor guy. I'll check it out now. ^__^
