Spider Web in Fog

posted Thursday, 14 October 2004

On a foggy Wisconsin morning this week, my twelve-year-old son pointed out a spider web in a peony bush by our driveway. It didn't look like much, but I took a photo with the flash on. When I looked at the photo later, I was amazed to see that the webs that just seemed kind of thick to my eyes were actually strung with pearls.

There's a moral, I suppose: sometimes there is great beauty hidden in things we would normally destroy as nuisances or even threats. Sometimes the beauty just needs the right conditions to come be revealed.

It did'nt take a picture for me to see if we destroy beauty. Children are beautiful and we even destroy their souls sometimes. As adults we preach Love honisty and faithfulness. Do you know many of these adults? I can say I sure dont meet many of them.
